There is a slot on the opposite side of the case, where you can find the battery. Use the flathead screwdriver with tape to gently pry open the case, starting on one side and then moving to the opposite. Remove the old battery and then put in the new CR2025 to ensure that it's in the right orientation for the correct orientation. Then, put the cap of the battery back on and reattach both sides of the key fob's case. Continue pressing until you hear them click.

After replacing the battery After replacing the battery, lock and unlock your doors to ensure that the fob is working. If everything seems to be in good order you're good to go. Mazda 3 remote features can be used again.

Pairing Issues

This could be a sign that the transmitter in your car may have been damaged. It is typically a need for an expert to repair it and may need a new key fob.

If you have tried replacing the battery and reprogramming the key fob, but isn't solving the issue, it is possible that the chip in the key fob may be faulty. This could happen if the keyfob has been dropped, exposed to saltwater, or handled by dirty fingers.

To determine the cause of the issue, you will need to locate a small "key" built into the fob's seam which allows you to open it and take out the circuit board. You will then be able to look for any damage or corrosion on the electronic chip. To prevent damaging the microchip, it is recommended to use a clean paper towel.

If you aren't sure, you can also check the battery connector terminals for cracks or breakage. If this is the case, then carefully connecting them back can usually restore the function of the key fob. Also, you can check the buttons to see whether they've been worn out or damaged. If the buttons are loosened, they can be soldered back to their original position unless they have physically snapped.

Interference Signals

There is nothing more frustrating than looking at an "No Fob Detected" message when you attempt to start your vehicle. This can happen at the most inconvenient possible times, like when you're running late to work or when you have to pick up your children from school/daycare. There are a few things you can try to figure out what's the cause.

Interference signals can affect the remote key fob's signal from the vehicle making it unable to work properly. It can be caused by things like weather conditions, buildings, and transmitters using the same frequency. Interference can occur when your vehicle has aftermarket equipment that transmits at the same frequency as your key fob.

In addition, if your key fob is exposed to salt or water waters, it could be damaged. The rubber seals on the electronic chip can be damaged by water, particularly when it is submerged for long periods of time, such as in the ocean or a pool at the beach. This can cause the chip to stop working and require replacement of the key fob. If you have a programmeable key you can clean the chip using isopropyl alcohol or an electronic cleaner to help it come back to normal. If this does not help the chip, it is likely to be damaged and will need to be replaced.

Locking or Unlocking the Doors

The key fob's buttons send electronic signals to a solenoid inside the car that then converts the signal into a mechanical action that locks and unlocks the doors. If the door lock is not working, it could be due to a solenoid problem that requires some investigation by a professional auto repair shop.

A dead 12 volt battery can hinder the fob from functioning properly. This is the case if the battery's charge is lost or if the contacts become corroded, and stop transferring electricity. The good news is that a new battery is able to resolve this issue in a matter of minutes.

If the key fob doesn't work after you change the battery or try to re-program it the issue could be in the receiver module. This device detects radio frequency signals sent by the key fob to control the vehicle. It could be a costly repair if the device becomes defective.

To verify if this is true, place your spare key into the key slot. Then, turn the ignition ON. Press the key fob twice in a matter of 10 seconds without removing it. The Mazda 3 system will now be able to synchronize the key with your car and allow you to use it as your primary remote for driving. You can program up to three keys this way.
