Today's key fobs can do beyond just unlock and start your car. They also control the windows and sunroof. And as such, they are expensive to replace if you damage or lose them.

Battery

Modern key fobs offer amazing features and convenience, but they require a little attention to ensure they're functioning well. Over time, the battery inside your key fob will run out of energy and needs to be replaced. You'll know when it's time to change the battery when your car becomes difficult to start, or your buttons stop working.
Changing the battery in your key fob is fairly easy. First set the key fob on a flat surface, and press the metal button until it pops up. Find the seam that joins the lid and base of the fob, then utilize an incredibly small screwdriver (or sometimes, even your fingernail) to break the two halves of the fob apart gently.
Then lift the clips that hold the battery in place and then remove it. If your key fob has a slot for the battery, replace it with the new one, making sure you insert it in the correct plus and direction.
You'll require a coin-cell CR2032 battery, which can be found in most stores selling batteries or online. The battery is typically a small disc that has an X or minus symbol on it. Be careful when handling the battery since it may leak when you use your hands with dirt. The leak can damage the circuit board, making it less likely to work correctly in the future.
